Hey Jess, I'm not sure how your idea has evolved and if this is still along the lines of your project, but here's a link I found:

If you scroll halfway down the page, there is a really old ad depicting a "chubby-sized" girl, as the ad says. It's basically saying that little girls may not care if they're "chubby" and "hard-to-fit," but their mothers and certainly clothing retailers care very much about them being chubby and hard to find clothes for. Interesting.
