Disclaimer

ROUGH beginnings of a possible disclaimer to have outside the gallery?

“Parts of this Exhibition feature nudity, surgical scarring, and mild profanity. All text and images that contain nudity or profanity were created in the context of the individual work and do not intend to offend viewers. Nudity and profanity are not used lightly in this Show; we seek in every sense to educate and inform viewers and to fulfill the goal of our Exhibition as a whole.”

* I think it would be kind of cool to say something like, “This warning is given in the event that these topics make you uncomfortable. However, we ask that you give it a chance; after all, this exhibit is about behavior and identity and, in many cases, challenging societal norms.” That might sound too uppity, but worth a shot, right? =]

  4. I like all of it, it really works. I like how you state "the nudity and profanity was used only in context of the works". Great. Although I do not expect anything less.
